I live in Scotland, not far from the River Tweed, which I swim in when a summery day coincides with the local longhorn cows not grazing in the riverside field.

I am hazarding a career change into nature conservation, and while the whole escapade terrifies me at points I think it might just make me happier than I ever thought of being. I write about nature and about my life and about the connections between them.

I take a lot of photos, mostly of nature or dogs, and post them to my Instagram with puns or Lord of the Rings references which wise people tend to ignore.

I love reading books, writing letters, walking by the shore or in the woods, and eating cheese.
